Making a business plan for your home business

I asked a friend," Do you have a business plan ?"and she seemed surprised. I asked why she was surprised and she answered,"I had a plan in my head, but not a written plan" and she also said,"when my business is big enough then I'll draw up a plan". After all, this was just a home business right? I could understand why she thought she didn't need a plan as this is the attitude and the perception of most home business owners. This also explains why many home based businesses fail after a few months. A business plan is the compass you need to guide you on your entrepreneurial journey and without it you are lost. Think about it for a moment, would you embark on a journey to a place you didn't know without a map or a GPS? Even tourists have tour guides for a reason.
Jumping into a business with so much enthusiasm and lots of expectation but without a written plan is setting yourself up for failure from the beginning.

I do not mean your LIST OF 100 people. I'm talking about a proper business plan. If you do not have one already, then I hope you return soon to read about why you need a plan for your direct sales business.
